I have been working in Latin America as a bassoonist for several years and am wondering what cities in the states have a reasonable amount of work available for professional level classical musicians: Teaching, regional orchestras, random moderately desirable work that is somewhat up for grabs. I have heard that Houston and Atlanta are quite good? Any suggestions?

My rationale here is that a person with a musically trained ear might be able to better pick up and imitate different accents and fluctuations (pitches) of the voice. There are so many people in my classes who, even after repetitively hearing the language spoken, can not seem to imitate the pronunciations or nuances of the accent. I’ve always had a knack for learning languages and nailing the pronunciations and accents, and I have wondered if my musicianship has had something to do with that.

some local musician guy asked me out on myspace. i said yes but then felt shy so i said only friends. he kind of disappeared after that, altho i tried to poke him. then i msged him explaining that i said friends bcoz i was shy,but would still like to date.he replied saying he’s “definitely still interested” and would call.he never called.i called after a month and he snapped at me telling me i caught him at wrong time.2 weeks later i got a msg from him asking for my number and some photos i had mentioned to him in a msg i had sent him A MONTH before that.i have not heard from him since.it’s been 5 weeks already. 2 weeks ago i msged his cell to buy tickets from him, he didn’t reply. i dont’ know if he got it or if his cell was in service…but i feel OFFENDED and i feel like punishing him and deleting him from my account. I’m wondering if was looking for sex?! he’s changed his status to swinger…i dont understand what’s going on….any ideas? plz be honest. i appreciate ur help…
