Open Question: Planning for the future, second job?

Photography is my passion. I want to work in a studio, darkroom, portraits, the like. But I was looking at the wages in my state for a wide percentile of photographers' wages and I wasn't exactly satisfied. Would it be dumb or naive to consider looking for another part-time job? And if not, what are some of your suggestions? And for the record, because I know that sometimes it depends, I'm a female freshman in high school, looking forward to Photo 1 next year, then Photo 2 and 3 every year. I play three different instruments and am extremely musically inclined, and my favorite subjects are history and math. This may give you an idea if you wanted my key interests, should you be so kind as to suggest some part-time jobs to hit a satisfying wage. Thanks so much, and I will reward 10 points to the answer that helps most! I've used my state CIS website through school and home to find out all that I have found about the photography career path.

Open Question: What do you think of this Paramore album review? (10 POINTS UP FOR GRABS)?

Here's another one of my album reviews. Can you give me some constructive criticism? Tell me where I can shape up. Tell me if it's okay. Trying to become a music journalist. Paramore Brand New Eyes Album Review Brand New Eyes proves to be an appropriate title for Paramore’s third studio album. The fiery quintet experiement with multiple sounds on the record, a decision that results in making the listener wonder if halfway through, the CD will do them the pleasure of self destructing. Williams pathetic, whining drawls on Playing God should rest in peace in the band’s hometown of Nashville. Also, The Only Exception’s low key sound was cute and mellow, but take note Paramore, it wasn’t necessary to accompany it with Misguided Ghosts and All I Wanted (warning: will do induce a mind splitting migraine.) The high point of this record includes tracks like Careful, Ignorance and Brick By Boring Brick. A bonus for hysteric Twilight fans turned Paramore fans includes Decode. This is an ode from vocalist Williams, to the mega success of the literary work concerning vampires, capturing the raw emotion behind loving what you probably should not. For the most part, the over simplistic nature of various lyrics is the death of many songs. However, these four tracks survive and prove to audiences that Paramore still posesses that high energy, risky-business, pop grinding style that brought them to international stardom. As far as an obviously experimental album goes, Brand New Eyes demonstrates growth in maturity but lacks a certain energy that effortlessly flowed out of previous works.

Open Question: electric dums V.S. real drum set? pros and cons of each?

i'm not a drummer. i record people. i have bought multiple instrements to accomodate the people i record. the next instrement i plan on buying was a drum set but i'm intrigued by an electric drum set i saw. please tell me pros and cons of each. please list weather or not you have owned both. also remember, i'm not a performer or an artist or a drummer. i remade my house into a studio, all i really do is record unless people need me for a track. i have guitars saxophones pianos and all sorts of stuff. lately i've been thinking of getting a drumset so that drummers don't have to lug their equipment into my drum room from their house. but since i'm not a drummer i have no idea what is best, electric or real, pros and cons true, i do have actually a couple sets of different drum mics and a treated room for recording them in with optional slide out wooden wall for natural reverb if i want that. so as far as expense and microphones i'm not worried. i just want the drummers from all different genre's that come to my house to be happy and comfortable on my drum set. i'll worry about capturing the recording. but it sounds as though you prefer real drums. thank you for your post

Open Question: I need any kind of critique on my research paper on Charlie Chaplin. Anyone got an idea how to help me?

All right, I am an international student and I was assigned to do my research paper on Charlie Chaplin's impact on American 1920s. I will give you the research below, and if anyone can give me any critique, or any idea how to expand it (cause I need a little bit more words to fill my 5th page of paper which is how many pages my teacher requires), or any internet website that could help me ( I will recognize whether I used it or not if you give me any). Charlie Chaplin and the Roaring Twenties The roaring 1920s in America was a period of changes in people. Due to the World War I and a very hard time, almost every aspect of life was changed in the nation. Among fashion, music and other changes in people, movies had a significant impact on American people. Movies gave the opportunity for a new way of entertainment. One of the most famous actors, who marked the American 1920s, was Sir Charles Chaplin. He was one of the biggest movie stars ever born. Chaplin made around eighty-seven silent movies from which ten were recorded in the period 1920-1930. During the 1920s, his movies were extremely popular among people of the US and his icon is and will remain alive for a long time (Old Magazine Articles). Charlie Chaplin affected American culture and values by producing movies which gave a new way of entertainment for people. Charlie Chaplin was born in London in 1889 (PBS). His parents were poor, but both successful singers (Internet Movie Data Base). Charlie inherited his parents’ talents and wanted to become an artist at the very early age. His first stage appearance was at the age of five where he sang instead of his mother who was ill at the time (Internet Movie Data Base). He first visited America in 1907 at the age of eighteen. He went to a theater company where he got to play role as “Billy” in the play “Sherlock Holmes”. After this show, he was founded to have an incredible talent for acting, so he met Mr. Mack Senneth who helped him to sign a contract with Keystone Studios and act in movies. After two tours of “Sherlock Holmes” all over America, Chaplin was considered a very talented young actor whose future can just be determined in a positive way. In addition, he recorded thirty-four more short films such as “Caught in a Rain” and “Caught in a Cabaret”. Although the movies did not last for a long time, Chaplin was such a good actor to entertain people in the many different ways (PBS). The beginning of the career announced that he will become a successful actor, so in 1919, he accepted the offer from Mary Pickford, D. W. Griffith, and Douglas Fairbanks to create a United Artists studios from which the movies would be published. (Filmsite). He had a fairly difficult beginning before he carved a niche for himself in the entertainment industry (Buzzle). Since the movie industries and producers did not have a lot of money when it comes to recording a movie, most of Chaplin’s movies were considered low budget movies. Before 1920s, his movies did not reflect anything that was happening in the America. Most of the movies that he made were not any kind of irony or sarcasm. After travelling throughout America and meeting the famous actors, writers, producers and directors, Chaplin was able to make his own movies. So, in 1914, Chaplin made his first movie called “Making a Living”. Unfortunately, the circumstances did not allow Chaplin to earn a lot of money, but as one said “Moviegoers couldn't get enough of him and his iconic persona” (Hayes 63), Chaplin did not really care about how much money he will earn. Majority of movies that he recorded were very good parts that had nothing to do with other ones which is really good because he proved his creativity that he had. After the end of the World War I changes in people were made in almost every aspect of life. Many people started rebirth from the exhausting period of World War I and that was the time when technological changes were made and with those changes, movie stars, music stars and others, used this period to become significant in what they do. While Chaplin was focusing on the recording of new movies, technology took its time and created a lot of advantages allowing him to record more qualitative movies. Due to the new technology available, movies were allowed to have both sound and color. The movie industry in Hollywood grew fast as did the number of Cinemas showing the films (The People History). In 1922, first color movie with the sound was made starring Al Jolson. Movie was called “The Jazz Singer” (u-s-history). In the beginning of 1920s (The Roaring Twenties), Chaplin started recording new kinds of movies with a better technology. Since he had a lot of experience from the previous writings, his new movies turned to be very interesting and successful movies. He tried his best so he could entertain people in the best way. “Chaplin typically improvised his story in front of the camera with only a basic framework of a script. He shot

Open Question: Music: Questions about getting it finished.?

Ok, so I like to write lyrics and have attempted to produce beats for my music...I can simply say:I am terrible at it. I'm not looking to be a bigtime millionaire rapper like Lil Wayne/Eminem/etc, but I would like to produce some decent tracks to get out there to spread my word, even if its just on radios/youtube...I tried mixtaping a few times but my editing skills just aren't that great either. so I was wondering: 1. When you go to a studio to record, do they make a beat for your track and you just record? 2. About how much does recording in a studio cost? 3. How do I get songs on the radio when I finally get them? Thanks to anyone who takes the time to help me out : )
