Just purchased this interface http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0041OSWX8/clearance48onsale-20 for $150 then I started to look around and found this, same? similar? and cheaper http://www.amazon.com/Lexicon-Alpha-Desktop-Recording-Studio/dp/B000HVXMNE is it pretty much same thing? which one would you choose if you are planning on dj-ing off of your laptop...trying to do simplest plug/play self powered speakers>interface>laptop. Any related suggestion would be helpful.

Basicly, I want to record my voice while playing xbox 360. Ive tried the Use the PC to record your voice and my HD PVR to record gameplay but.. Ive got turtle beach x41s and I want to do live commentaries and do well in the game.. Is there a way I can use my x41s to record voice through my HD PVR? If not is there another way for my problem, I know a studio mic for PC would be good as I can record voice use my headset and look at the TV at once.. but I am not really interested in spending more money right now. P.S. They are for youtube, I make Mw2 gaming videos and now will be doing Black Ops. Thanks in advanced. ~ dZeiL

My band is trying to record some of our songs but we don't know if we should all try recording at the same time or do it individually. We see all these other bands that go into the recording studio doing their parts individually... why is that?

I have a collection of original studio masters and dupes for various artists. I know some should be quite valuable; for example, an Andy Williams recording for President Kennedy prior to his assassination. Most recordings are masters from artists recording between 1963 and 1974. I don't want to pay per recording to have these appraised. It would be nice to find an expert who could look over my list of inventory, give me a ballpark figure for all of them, and point me in the right direction for a place to liquidate them. I am in the middle of a business plan. Would any parents out there, if they had one in there area...take your young son/daughter to a recording studio party? (ages 5 to 12) The party would turn up and after being shown around the studio, they would decide what they would like to be called....eg The Sundays or Kings of Zion!! after running through the song of the birthday girl/boys choice, they record it (including the giggly bits!) they then have a professional photo shoot together then go into another room where music and food awaits plus birthday cake (Cake supplied by parents), while the cd and photos are being mastered. At the end of the 2 and half hours, they get to listen to the song...and get a goodies bag with cd and photo of the day..birthday girl boy gets the master cd and photo album of her/his day. Would you take your son or daughter? if so, how much would you pay for this experience?

I'm thinking of starting up a small recording studio for low budget bands, the process would only involve recording, and mastering their songs. How much do you think I should be charging for a service like this?

i no lots of girls who keep asking because ive met him now :D well if you live in london its a good start basically i went to fountain studios in wembly which is where x factor is recorded and the contestants come to practise but not on monday and wednesday. and if you get there early morning on tuesday friday saturday or sunday you will most probably see them also after the show they have an after party but i was there around 10 pm when i met harry he was on the other side of the bars but i got a picture and a bracelet and a little kiss on the cheeck. xx hope this helped people
